Chi Kung Program

The focus of these programs is to help you establish a regular and well informed practice of Chi Kung and meditation. Whether you are brand new to Chi Kung or you have been practicing for years, you will benefit from our mix of theory and practice.

- Meditation and Breathwork (Theory and Practice)
The day will open with taoist meditation and breathing exercises to create an awareness of the importance of the breath on and off the mat.

- Morning Session (Practice)
You will learn our Chi Kung warm-up set and the Eight Pieces of Brocade (Standing and Sitting sets).

- Evening Session (Theory and Practice)
We will offer lessons about the nature of Chi Kung, its history, Taoist philosophy, chinese medicine, and how these practices can be integrated into one’s daily life. You will also learn the Six Healing Sounds.

The course is open to all levels of students.

Day 1 (Monday): Arrival/ Doi Suthep Mountain

Your Tour starts at Lunch time, we pick your up anywhere in Chiang Mai. Then, after checking in at the resort, you will go on a light excursion.

Up the mountain’s winding road is the 600 year old temple of WAT PHRATHAT DOI SUTHEPthe final climb to the site is via an enormous mythological Nagas (Dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps. On a clear day, there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds. North Thailand is famous for its colorful hill tribes and today you will visit Ban Doi Pui, a Hmong village in a picturesque location.

Day 2 (Tuesday): Mae Sa Valley

Enjoy the scenic nature of the valley while doing Elephant Riding, watching Elephant Show, visiting Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden and Orchids farms.

Day 3 (Wednesday): Baan Ta Wai Handicraft Village

In Ban Tha Wai Handicraft Village, watch the artisans and craftsmen at work, practicing techniques handed down for centuries.
Then visit Wat Umong, a forest and cave temple in the foothills in the west of the city.
Lunch on top- roof restaurant at Ban Tha Wai.

Day 4 (Thursday): Doi Inthanon National Park

Explore Doi Inthaon National Park, the "roof of Thailand", with the highest peak (2565 m) in the country. Your guide will take you on Kaew Mae Pang Nature Trail, through a piece of real cloud forest .You will see Mae Ya Waterfall, Ban Mae Ab Nai Karen Village and will stop in a weaving area on the way back.

Day 5 (Friday): San Kamphaeng, Sa Paper and Umbrellas workshops- Hot Springs

San Kamphaeng is the place to go for Sa Paper and umbrellas makers. Each one of the wonderful umbrellas produced here is hand made from bamboo and covered with Sa paper, which is made from a local tree similar to the mulberry. The umbrellas are then painted with brilliant colours and floral or bird motifs; each umbrella is an original and unique work of art. After that you will continue to the Hot Springs, where you will have the oportunity to relax in a mineral swimming pool and enjoy Thai massage.

Day 6 (Saturday): Sanpatong Cattle Market- Chiang Dao Caves

In the morning, we bring you to the typical Sanpatong cattle Market. Then you will go to Chiand Dao to reach Pa Plong temple (an active meditation centre) and its caves. There, guides with lanterns will take you deep into the caves wich are extensive but easy to walk through.
Lunch will be served at Chiang Dao Nest Resort.
In the evening we eat at the famous Riverside restaurant.

Day 7 (Sunday): Departure

You will have your last Chi Kung class in the morning with discussion and feedback. After lunch, your tour concludes. We bring you back to Chiang Mai International Airport or to any point of your choice in the city. You can also decide to stay at the resort.
